Ripley Valley State Secondary College provides well-planned parking facilities for daily school operations, student drivers, visitors and major community events.

Drop
-off and pick-up zone

The college’s primary drop-off and pick-up zone provides 19 marked short-stay spaces for parents and carers setting down or collecting students.

It is accessed from Parkway Avenue through the entrance closest to Providence Parade and provides convenient access to the main college buildings.

The zone is intended for brief stops rather than extended parking. Drivers should enter a marked space before students enter or leave the vehicle and move on promptly once it is safe.

To support a safer and more efficient arrival:

  • Use a marked drop-off space rather than stopping in the circulation lane.
  • Keep pedestrian crossings, pathways and internal access roads clear.
  • Remain alert for students moving between vehicles and the college.
  • Follow directional signage and instructions provided by college staff.
  • Use the Northern Car Park if you need to leave your vehicle or remain on site.

The area is busiest immediately before and after school. Families are encouraged to allow additional time and remain patient around students and pedestrians.

Northern Car Park

The Northern Car Park provides 80 marked car spaces for staff, visitors and other authorised vehicles.

It is located at the northern end of the campus and is accessed from Parkway Avenue through the entrance closest to Providence Parade. The same entrance also provides access to the primary drop-off and pick-up zone.

A smaller secondary drop-off area is incorporated into the Northern Car Park, providing another convenient option for brief student drop-offs and collections.

Visitors should follow the internal directional signage and use designated visitor parking where available. Marked accessible spaces must remain available for vehicles displaying a valid disability parking permit.

Vehicles must remain within marked spaces and must not obstruct pedestrian routes, loading areas, emergency access points or internal roads.

Student car park

A separate student car park provides 44 marked spaces for students who drive to school.

It is located immediately south of the Northern Car Park and has its own entrance from Parkway Avenue, using the next college entrance to the south and closer to the roundabout.

Separating student parking from the Northern Car Park and primary drop-off zone helps distribute vehicle movements across the site and reduce congestion around the main arrival area.

Student drivers should use the designated student parking area, park entirely within a marked space and comply with current college parking and road-safety procedures. Students are encouraged to exit left when leaving student / northern parking to help reduce congestion.

To help ensure student safety, Ripley Valley State Secondary College requires student drivers and any student passengers travelling with them to have completed the relevant permission forms.

Students and their parents or carers should ensure the appropriate form has been completed before a student drives to school or travels with another student driver.

Secure bicycle and scooter storage

Attached to the student car park is a secure bicycle and scooter lock-up containing:

  • 30 bicycle rails
  • 20 scooter lock-up spaces

This dedicated facility gives students who ride or scoot to school a secure place to store their equipment during the school day, supporting active and sustainable travel to the college.

Raptor Dome parking

Located on the eastern side of the campus accessible via Parkway Avenue near Botany Drive, the Raptor Dome incorporates a substantial two-storey parking facility.

Across its covered and uncovered areas, the Raptor Dome provides 279 car parking spaces, comprising:

  • 156 covered car spaces
  • 123 uncovered car spaces
  • 12 additional covered motorcycle bays

The combination of covered and uncovered parking provides convenient access to the Raptor Dome and the capacity required for sporting competitions, performances, awards ceremonies, expos and major community events. Covered parking also provides valuable protection from the weather during daytime and evening activities.

Parking and traffic arrangements may change depending on the size and nature of an event. Visitors should check event-specific information before arriving and follow any temporary signage or directions provided by college staff and parking marshals.

Vehicles must only be left in designated parking areas. Emergency access points, service areas, pedestrian routes and adjoining internal roads must remain clear at all times.

Car Park Terms of Entry

Use of all Ripley Valley State Secondary College parking areas is subject to the Car Park Terms of Entry displayed at the car park entrances.

Drivers and other users must:

  • Comply with all signs and directions provided by college staff.
  • Park only within marked bays.
  • Use reserved spaces only when authorised.
